Is This Thing On?
Just wondering if anyone is actually reading this blog? Not that I'm spending hours slaving away at it, but if you're taking the time to read my random thoughts, thank you! I'll try to keep up with it.
Photo Editor For The Week!
So, while Katie is off in Germany I am filling in for her as Photo Editor. I have feelings about this: YAY! and EEEEEK!
It's going really well so far though. We're working on the Music Issue, out October 7th and we're really on top of things. It's great that it's all coming together so easily. I was really nervous that there would be some huge meltdown while I was standing in, but so far so good (picture me here knocking on my desk).
Today was especially fun because I got to (I guess supervise is the right word?) supervise a photoshoot that we were doing for the Imperatives Opener. The shoot was at a Guitar Repair shop near Berklee College of Music. I was swarmed by students with guitars on their backs while walking there and the building seem a little questionable at first because there was no sign. But I managed to find the right place. The repair guy was quite the character too. He was definitely one of those guys that has a good sense of humor once he warms up to you.
The photographer for the shoot was Michael Khachadoorian. He was really fun to work with and I think we came away with some really cool shots. Check them out in the October 7th issue of The Improper.
The rest of the week seems like it will be pretty calm. I'm doing a dining shoot on Thursday at Bon Savor in JP. And I'll be scheduling the style shoot for next week.

Quick Update
Sorry, still slackin' a bit.
Anyway, quick updates.....
I've been busy doing Dining shoots for the Improper. Did Teranga this week and I'll be doing Tangierino this Tuesday. Look for images in upcoming issues. We've been working on the Music issue too, should be preety cool. Lots of up and coming Boston bands featured.
I sent in my application for the Newburyport Fall Harvest Festival! I should know soon if it's been approved. I'm really excited! Katie (the photo editor at The Improper) is going to do it with me too. It should be really fun and I hope we sell some prints. I ordered all the prints I want to sell. I now am the proud owner of 140 5x7 prints! There's a funny story too...So the estimated delivery date was 9/9. So that day I checked the status and it said that it was picked up from the facility in North Billerica and was on the truck for delivery (this was at 10:30am). So I listen for the truck in the afternoon and check the status, nothing. Finally that night I hear a truck out front and then look outside and there is my package. Mind you, it's now 10:30pm! Apparently it takes 12 hours to get from North Billerica to Salem. Anyway, they got here safe and sound. Now all I have to do is order the mattes, matte them all, sign the mattes and package them all up. Whew! Should be a good time!
Remember the festival is October 11 & 12 in Newburyport MA. That's Colombus Day weekend (Sun and Mon). Hope you can make it.
